Garlic Funk is an indica-dominant strain, the result of a cross between First Class Funk and GMO. Kokotte, who brought us the magnificent Sativa Mango K, presents here a 100% Québec craft indica. According to Kokotte’s website, its unique terpene profile blends gassy, fruity, and cheesy notes, with deeply relaxing effects.
After the success of Mango K, I was eager to try Garlic Funk, and I thought it would be perfect for forgetting about work and winter. From the moment I opened it, I sniffed aromas of hay, fruits, and spices—it reminded me a bit of the Laughing Buddha strain. Visually, the buds are of good size and covered in orange pistils. Breaking one in half, the smell of fermented pineapple violently assaults my nostrils… Let’s go! It’s not my preferred flavor profile, but it burns well and has a pleasant taste—slightly sweet, spicy, and earthy. A few minutes later, back inside, I’m still in my snow gear and wearing my fur hat, and I’m scrolling Reddit with difficulty. My vision is a bit blurry, my eyes sting, and my heart rate has slowed. At this point, I wonder whether I’m hibernating or overwintering? And above all, I wish I had enough courage to get up before my wife finds the flattened bear on the couch.
Garlic Funk is a great addition to Kokotte’s catalog. It perfectly complements Mango K with its funky aromas and much more calming effects. I found it both relaxing and comforting. It also pairs really nicely with music. Well done, Kokotte!
